Who We Are
Kenyans in Milwaukee, Inc.
Brief Overview:
For many years, Kenyans in Milwaukee connected privately as individuals, families, and within other group settings in times of need – to support each other during sickness or loss, and during celebration events like graduations, birthdays, weddings and others. But this was not enough as Kenyans with their extended Milwaukee families and presence in the Milwaukee area felt that a formal organization would provide a better and broader forum for togetherness. A cohesive group provides a better dynamic and talent to address emerging community challenges as well as promote relationships between the people of Kenya and Milwaukee that will lead to positive developments in both communities.
In October 2013, a small committee began monthly meetings to formally establish the Kenyans in Milwaukee organization. In November 2014, Kenyans in Milwaukee, Inc. acquired the Federal Identification Number (EIN).
